This horse is an older retired show horse. His show name is Errand Boy. I am told that he was a great show horse in his day. The people that have him now love him and treat him like he is still a show horse! I almost forgot to sign it in my haste to get it out!

Here is some of the wisteria... I put two photos together to show how far up into the trees the wisteria has gone. I guess I should have planted the dogs in front to show some perspective.. oh well, next time!!

I decided to share a few photos of my home... it is just so beautiful this time of year! This is a view as you drive up to my house. The room on this side is my studio. Note the wisteria in the front of the house. I planted it about 20 years ago... it has taken over the woods in front of my farm... to the annoyance of the electric company! They come out about every 2 years and "try" to tame it! I think it is like a rose... if you cut it back, you invigorate it! And it just smells so good! I will post a few more photos in the next couple of days.

Here is my latest... took a little longer to get it on here. As soon as I had shipped it out to the client, i came down with the flue! Have not had that since being a kid! Don't want it again! Luckily it only had me down for about 48 hours. And it has taken me about 2 more days to feel about normal again! Now to catch up! Seems like I was doing that when I got the flue... lots of family "stuff" going on right now too! But I have a lot of pieces that need to get done!!!! So back to work... the only problem "now" is that it is SO beautiful outside finally. Florida is about a month off schedule for spring. All the new green especially after such an unusually long and cold winter!!! I just love this time of year! The azaleas are just starting to bloom... they are usually done by the beginning of march, not the end. I smelled the first wisteria last nite while walking the dogs... has to be my just about my favorite scent of spring! Quite the strange weather year... just hope that does not mean a bad summer of hurricanes! Smack my fingers for even typing that!!!!

Here is my latest.... This came together well. Took longer than I wanted to finish it. Probably because the weather is finally getting better and I hate to stay inside to work! Also the horse shows are in town (H.I.T.S.) and that can be a huge source of distraction! I still have a lot that needs to get done for clients that are in town! And a lot of people that I need to touch base with while they are here.....

Here is my latest... Coco & Tulip. Its a small pastel on suede mat board. This one is so sweet! I love the choice of photo. I had others that were more the normal looking poses... but this one showed their sweetness. I am glad the client chose this one!
I used a slightly darker colored mat board this time... seems to help with the black pastel. When I do small pieces I will go through my framer's scraps.. so I can try out different colors. The warm, darker grays work well... might have to switch from the light pinkie gray that I have been using.

Bo Bett Summer Fun

O.K... This one is a little different for me! But fun! And it is the third pastel I had agreed to do in exchange for my horse! Always a good thing! Carol Harris is the breeder of these dogs... she breeds and shows whippets, Italian grey hounds and quarter horses... she is truely an amazing person! And she is in her 80's to boot! I want to grow up and be just like her!! She is a neighbor and a friend. I can always count on Carol to come up with something interesting for me to do!

The dogs were photographed on the asphalt... we debated about making it grass in the pastel. But I am glad we decided to keep the asphalt... I had fun playing with the sun spots and all the colors and textures in the gray asphalt.
